93 Lumina 3.1 Starting problem!

Hello all I have a 93 Lumina Euro with the 3.1L engine in it. The car was working fine until the other day. A friend of mine and I were looking under the hood and checking the fuses in the engine compartment. My friend saw a little red switch and flipped it several times. When I tried to start the car it wouldn't do anything, turn over nothing. Everything works as far as the lights and the radio, and you can hear the fuel pump start up but the ignition doesn't engage. I have an idea about what the problem is, but i'm not sure if it is correct. i think the switch he flipped is aftermarket and is some sort of anti-theft device that had killed the starter/ignition. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You are probably right but there is no way from here to determine it's operation and design.

Thanks for the reply. I've never seen a togle switch like it. the lever is very small. i think i'm going to unhook the battery then unhook the switch and see if that helps..
