L98 swap for 305
I need to know if anyone has any info to swap a L98 350 rollercam in the place of my tired 305

had an iroc with a L98 350 tunedport injection and it ran great. can easaly access one of these engines for my 91 caprice but i need to know if its possible to swap it in ? do i need to change fuel pump? will it bolt right up to a 700r4? what relays will i have to change? can i just swap ecm and engine and just turn the key or what?
pls let me know thanks!!!! |

It will bolt directly to the TH700-R4.
The fuel pump would need to be changed to a TPI/LT1 pump (3 Bar). The relay for the fuel pump will already be present, but you'll likely have to add relays for the electric cooling fans. The ECM needs to be changed, and the engine compartment harness needs to be exchanged or modified. If you get everything from the ThirdGen from the C200 and C221 connectors forward, you should have all you need. It is possible to re-pin the TBI harness for speed-density TPI, however. I have some links if you're interested. I've done TPI installations (complete with all emissions and lockup/OD transmission) on '57 Bel Airs, '70 pickups, '70s Chevelles, C3 Corvettes, and even an I/O Mercruiser (boat). Your's is cake compared to some of those. You might not even need to reprogram a stock binary to run well.
