Question cracks in plenum on 3.8

1986 olds 88 3.8

any one hear of cracks in plenums on this engine i suspect air getting into plenum and displacing the coolant and not letting the fan switch work?

Re: cracks in plenum on 3.8

The plenum deteriorates at the egr passage allowing coolant to enter the engine, don't know how this affects the fan " switch," the pcm commands the fans on at 222 degrees based on the coolant temp sensor input and subsequent activation of the fans thru relays.
