Power Steering Fluid Leak?
Before bringing the 99 to the shop, I was wondering if anyone has had their PS fluid leak, but still operating properly? Perhaps it is common...
I can't seem to pin-point the leak, so it might be a seal, hose, pump. thx. |

Re: Power Steering Fluid Leak?
my 95 was leaking about a quart a week...mechanic said i need rack so i said screw it ill just drive the car till the rack just goes but it never went...so i had some tranny work done and they looked at the leak and said rack was fine one of the hoses was leaking...job cost about 120 cause hose was a special hose i guess...but no more problems with the power steering since then

Re: Power Steering Fluid Leak?
When I picked up my '95 Aurora back in '04 I ran it by the dealers for a check out and they told me the same thing about it was the rack. I decided to do the work myself. I got it in the air and cleaned it up good, I found it was a pin hole leak in the line. Picked up both lines at Advance Auto for $52 and spent about 2 hours replacing them. (One was a bit of a bear getting it to slipped through everything and line up in the right position.) The unit never gave me a bit of problem even when it got extremly low on fluid, just didn't make sense to pour it on the ground.
