2002 Grand AM Emergency Flasher Problem

The Emergency Flashers on my Grand AM are not working. I have checked all of the fuses and replaced the Flasher unit in the dash. The blinkers work OK, except for the occasional clicking sound when the blinkers are off (Known problem with the Milti Function switch on the column). I have performed some diagnostics and believe that I am not getting voltage to the switch in the dash to support the Emergency lights. Is there a pinout for this switch online, or maybe a wiring diagram?

Re: 2002 Grand AM Emergency Flasher Problem

Welcome to AF.

Your question is kinda confusing.......

You say your emergency flashers are NOT working.
But then you say you "blinkers" are working.......
I assume by blinkers you mean "turn signal".

If you are getting any clicking when the turn signal is OFF, or the hazzards, then you MFS is most likely the problem.

Can pull out the MFS and clean the contacts inside and replace with some new die electric grease.
Should be a thread(or two) over in the Grand am forums talking about these issues.

On the pinout wire diagram , thiers several online manuals but they are not free for your 2002.
Usually a subscription is needed, and they differ in price.

Hope that helps!
