Revell Golf GTI II tuner review

its about friggin time but revell blew it like the 300z, the car is well done the decals are exellent. but lots of work is to be done to fit some decent size wheels, the engine could use an ITR swap(or in my case a FWD V8) i know its a reissue but revell has to get it through their thick heads that tuners dont have 13 inch wheels anymore. if you like VWs as much as i do get it if you hate work to fit wheels look at a truck

I found that some Fujimi 17" wheels will fit; I found a set of Sauber Euros from Aoshima to fit mine but I added the thin tires from Pegasus rims to it. Plus Pegasus rims will fit with their thin tires also. Hope this helps!!:frog:

whata joke

well here is what i did. first i built it in the tuner version, but i left the stock grill, that other thing is terrible. then i found an old destroyed peugot 206 rally car, and robbed it of everything, like the sparco seats, the steering wheel, the little racing features you know. then i went to the hobby shop and looked at models. and i bought an Anceltion toyota celsior (which comes with bbs lm's by the way! which are two pieces. i painted the spokes black with a pollished lip) then i glued the hood shut. stuck on some hood pins. my brother works in a body shop so i was able to get some audi pearl grey to paint it with. it looks just like a euro tuner car. well when euro tuner was cool anyway www.evolutionsports.com/ is where you can check out some pretty nice rides from the seattle area. paaace hommiiiiie

You can't knock the kit because you had a hard time modifying it! Shouldn't kit reviews be limited to box stock builds? It's wrong to say a kit sucks because it can't fit a set of 19s!

I didn't resurrect the thread, check the post above mine. Hi, I'm Blazing Rice, and I build box stock models. Sometimes I might mod them a little.

Re: Revell Golf GTI II tuner review

actually, i was quite satisfied with my old VW Golf. I added rims and tires from Revells FnF Metal Eclipse (tires and wheels sizes are equivalent to the ITR and Civic rims). I threw in a B18C5 (ITR!), and slapped on the turbo from the eclipse on it!
