Detailing Question...98 with Aluminum wheels

Hello all. First let me start by saying thank you for having this site available. I've learned tons from hanging out here. I have a chrome yellow 98 Mustang V6. She's all factory. I know she's no powerhouse but I love my car. I've done several things from the techincal thread like the headlights, the idle stuff and thanks to that I've really got my car running nice and looking very sharp. I plan to do my exhaust, a CAI, and underdrive pulleys in the future but for right now I'm just trying to get her looking really nice.

My question is: What can I do to make my factory wheels shine better? I have the 16 inch factory aluminum wheels with the plastic pony centerpiece. I don't plan on replacing them because I actually like them. I wash them religiously and I've even tried using Mother's on them but I guess they are clearcoated because I didn't get anything on the rag when I did them. They have some stains on the wheels that I can't get out. I've seen aluminum brightener at NAPA which is just basically phosphoric acid but I'm scared that I might ruin my stock wheels with this. Any product suggestions?

with clear coat wheels an aluminum polish wont help,because youd just be rubbing it on the clear coat. best to take to a shop to strip off clear coat and cleaned then recoated. unless you can do it youself.
