truck quits running

This has happened to me twice in the last 2 months. I will driving my 1993 Dakota 5,2 L engine. and it will die. It can be started again but idles really rough and if you put it in gear it will die. Let it set for quite a while and it will start and run as it should. Like nothing ever happened. I changed the fuel filter both times. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you check for codes? Anything? If you think it is a fuel issue, did you check pressure? I just wanted to add, if the vehicle stalls on decel, closed throttle, I did see a bulletin for rough idle and stall, it talked about the idle air control system.
