check engine light, P0125
Hi,
I'm new to this forum and it looks like there are folks out here with a lot more knowledge about cars than I do . Hope you can help me!I have 2001 ZX2 with 50000 miles and I've always been very happy with my car, never had trouble before until 6 weeks ago my check engine light came on for the first time. I went to the FORD dealership right away and they told me that the engine coolant level was low. They refilled it and the light went out. I had the feeling that my car was running smoother afterwards (the car has always had a rough idle, but it was shaking less now). Unfortunately last weekend it came back on after about 1000 miles. Half a liter of engine coolant was gone again. The dealership checked again for a leak but couldn't find anything. The problem is also that I shipped my car 5 years ago from the US to Europe and no one has experience with this car here. So your help is very much appreciated! |

Re: check engine light, P0125
Try letting the car run at idle fully warmed up, heater on, to see if the leak only leaks when the system is under pressure.

Re: check engine light, P0125
Thanks for the response! It seems I forgot to mention the fix after the problem got solved. Sorry about that. It was the thermostat causing overheating. Since it was replaced in October I have not had any problems with it.
