Its a common issue for all honda trannys. Your third gear synchros are going. Not to worry though, they all do it and the tranny will probably last a long while. Try changing the trans oil and putting in two liters of GM synchromesh. You can buy it at the GM car dealer

Re: now that i got the trans in i have more trouble

you can also try lucas oil synthic tranny oil. it's cheaper, thicker, and designed for imports. lucas is around $10/qt where synchromesh is $15+/qt. don't get me wrong. i saw synchromesh do wonders for a tranny with a bad 3rd gear...we saw him drive & race it around a good yr before he sold motor/tranny still running.

when you did the tranny install if you filled it from the side it's impossible to get the full 2qts (1.9 whatever to be exact). i'll tell you a shop secret. pull the speedo sensor and fill from there

Re: now that i got the trans in i have more trouble

I got 2 qts of synchromesh for 17 bucks if memory serves me right. The stuff completely eliminated my 3rd gear grind in the crx. It did take about day of driving to really start working, I was disappointed the first time I drove it but it soon began to work like a brand new freaking tranny.
