Brake pedal modulates
My 2002 Aztek has just started to have pedal modulation when slowing down and making a 90 degree right turn. It does not do it all the time and never when turning left. The cv axles, brake pads and rotors are all in good shape. Any idea's?
Thanks, David |

Re: Brake pedal modulates
Assuming you are correct that the rotors are not warped, the brake pads are okay, and the CV's are good, then I would start checking suspension/steering components.. check hub bearing play, tierod end movement, ball joint movement. Make sure you have even tire pressures. You would be surprised at how these things can affect your vehicle.

Re: Brake pedal modulates
It may be a false cycle of the ABS system. Pull a fuse to the ABS to disable it and if the problem goes away start looking for a signal problem from an ABS sensor.

Re: Brake pedal modulates
It was the drivers side hub sensor. Had the dealer replace for $175.
