03 Sable with speedometer question

I have a 03 Mercury Sable and yesterday I noticed that the top part of the speedometer isn't illuminated. Really it starts right before 60mph and goes almost to 80mph. It looks like a bulb has burnt out, but I'm not sure. Is this a hard thing, or expensive thing to fix? Has this happened to anyone else?
