94-98 Sr20det (s14) Vs 89-93 Rb20det (r32)

What is better? I notice taht the sr20 is more expensive then the rb engine. why is this the case? Is the rb engine suppose to be ther skyline engine?

Thanks,

Cole

My guess as to why the SR is more expensive is because it's in higher demand then the RB is. Sure the RB is nice, but it doesn't swap into the 240SX as easily as the SR does. And yes RB's came in skylines

My 1st question is are you guys all drag racers? I've seen a lot of discussion of RB vs. SR engines and the only thing people talk about is how much power each makes, and how easy each is to swap in. Along with those RB people who want to be "different".

My 2nd question is, in a 240SX(S13 coupe is what I want) which engine will create a better balanced car? How much heavier is the RB engine and how far forward does it push the Center of Gravity of the Car? I'd really like a 240 as a track car, and I want it to be well balanced but very powerful. This would be a 2nd track car for me.

Okay getting out the flame suit now, I'm a Honda owner with a B16a CRX that I track regularly(HPDE's and track events) and I want a nice high HP FR car in addition to my FF CRX.

Racing

What up fellow racer,
I am planning on attending Skip Barber in a few months, I am on the East coast where we dont have as many racing Schools or Tracks.
Anyway, I have a '91 RPS13 (hatchback) for Drift/ Track. For a track Car you will want to go with the SR20DET or SR20DE preferably the S15. The weight difference between the KA and SR20DET is like 6lbs. The RB sits closer to the Radiator and is centered on the front Suspension, but it is heavier.
You are taking a big Jump, going from a FF to a FR. The control is different. Where you balance a FF (in a turn) by left foot braking, you now have to Lift and play the gas, to much Lift and your in the Kitty litter, to much gas and your Crab Walk is now a Drift. Your going to learn to do just the Opposite of a FF.
Have fun and keep it safe!! You can write me at [email protected]
Peace
Drew
