1993 Engine Interchange

My sons 1993 with the 3.3 v6 (and AT) has a blown engine. I want to get another one from the junkyard and drop it in. What years and cars will fit? It looks like the oil filter mounting on some of the Buick applications is different but I'm assuming those parts can be swapped over.

Also, is there anything I should be looking for in a used engine? It seems to me that the 3.3 is a pretty durable unit with no real weak spots.

Thanks in advance!

Re: 1993 Engine Interchange

I'd stick with pontiac and olds 92-95.
With the olds 3.3 engine, and most likly the buick, thier will be sensors that wont screw into or swap easily, so wiring may need changed, holes may need rethreaded to fit the proper sensors.

Hope that helps.
