Question where do I start

I am new to the world of souped up cars, and I would like to first ask where I should start in making an awesome car? Spoiler? Tires? Engine? what? I need some advice in starting me off.

i'm new too but....

LOGICALLY.. if you are gonna go all out.. i would start by beefin up my engine with the finest of the Aftermarket engine parts to insure that my engine won't blow with all the shit i'll do to it...... then work your way out.....
intake
headers
exhaust
cams
suspension
turbo
nos
nos
stage 4 dual shot nos
hahahaha
rims..
then go for aerodynamic body kits and touring spoiler
then go FOR THE ICE bABY...
GO ON FOREVER ON THIS topic.. but this is my opinion...
i'm not much of a CAr head....
YET.....

This depends on you. You need to ask yourself a few key questions like, Do I care more about Speed or looks, and the most important question, How much money do I have. From my personal experiance i have enjoyed getting the interior done and some of the outside then lightly going on to the engin. No the reason i say lightly is because I only have a part time job and let me tell you some those parts are expensive.
just a thought

specifically

OK specificaly, what woul be the first thing you wuld do to make a car go faster, don't worry abot money, I"ll take care of that.
Would you get new tires if so what kind?
Higher Octane fuel?
Intercoolers?
Nitrous Oxide?
What would be the stes you would take, money being no concern.

I personaly would not go for nitrus unless you are drag racing. i would start with the muffler. then work into the engine. Get turbo if posible new heads, fly wheel, Clutch, basicly upgrade the major stuff on the engine. Then once you get most of your mods (i would say all but your never have all the mods you need.) upgrade your comp chip. Then go for the ground effects. get wheels. I recomend Rebal (wrong spell) or Eagle Alloys. And some Yokohama or Pirelle tires. Then work on the interior. new shift nob, pedales, Stearing wheel, gueges to tell you what your engine is doing and what ever else your heart desiers.
Once agian Just my opinion.

yeah i wouldn't go for nos, till like the last mod

first 3 would be most predictable I-H-E, intake, header and exhaust... those are always the first 3 bolt-ons you should do for more power. Then i would strenghten the engine and put a turbo on it, also improve handling, do struts, sway bars, etc..... probably after that i would start doing appearance mods, lowering, body kit, wing, rims, etc.

that'll cost you alot... just the stuff i mentioned will push 10 grand

Don't know what you drive but here goes. And in this order.

Cold Air Intake (AEM, Injen, etc.)
Headers (Whichever is available for your car.)
Exhaust (Tanabe, Neuspeed, etc.)
Cams (Higher performance ones)
Pulleys (Lighter aluminum types)
Intake Manifold (This one is optional, it really depends on application.)
Throttle Body (Same as above)
Suspension (Coilovers, Shocks or Struts, etc.)
Brakes (AEM, Brembo, Stillen)
Brake Lines (Steel Braided)
Cosmetics (Body Kits, Spoilers, etc.)
NOS (For the serious racer)
Timing Equipment (Such as Apexi, etc.) This is also depending on application.

These are almost about all things to consider modding that I can think of right now. As for what each will produce, when you look into them, just do the research. In the end, you will want to put the right components together to give you the best results. I'm one that believes that since I know what I want, I go with what works best. Not so much on other peoples opinions. Just because someone says this product or that one is best, it might not suit your needs. With just a little research, you can make a lot with a little. Read car magazines, that would be a really good source for information. Also consider visiting the websites of some of the makers that actually make the products. The more informed of a buyer that you are, the better your choices will be in the applications that you use. Good luck.

Cheapest thing you can do if you don't have money is go to the movies and watch fast and the furious. :sun: JK

a cool site to visit is http://www.howstuffworks.com/

you can find info on how an engine works, how turbo works etc... its really helpful.

also, go to a car web site like carpoint.com and start comparing different car stats and find out what makes the different cars better, etc... in time you'll memorize all of that stuff.
