'98 Pulls to the right

Hi,

I've had my van aligned recently after getting new struts. The van has always pulled to the right so I was hoping that alignment would fix it. It did make it a little better but it's not right.

Here's what is interesting. If I floor it and accelerate quickly (as quick as a van accelerates at least) it drives straight as an arrow. The steering wheel is even centered.

But as soon as I let off the gas and coast, it pulls pretty well to the right. I have to turn the wheel to about 11 o'clock to go straight. If I then punch the gas it jumps to the left.

Does anyone have any ideas where I should look? The alignment readout said it was all in spec.

Thanks,
Billy

Re: '98 Pulls to the right

I am curious why the alignment guy did not notice anything. Could be a type of shop that just deals with what you ask for..Which is good to a point. I am thinking something in the front end would be causing this or a combo of things.I do know road grade for water runoff will cause a little travel to the right. So if yours is bad and the alignment guy did not notice anything. You might want to take a look at the sway bar area. I will say mine pulls a little to the right but thats because of the road grade. I notice this more in bigger cars and vans than I do in smaller ones. If I drive down the center of my road in my neighborhood it does not pull. Hope this helps.
