sub size
I just blew my 15 inch rocksford sub and i am looking to replace it with an alpine type-r 15 inch sub. my question is will it fit in the same box? and will it work with the same wires and etc? thanks

Thats because rockford sucks, lol j/k it should all be the same but you will have to run a crossover wire between the two wire ports on the sub, but the directions will show you how to do that. I have a Type R 12" and its great. Never heard a fifteen tho. Buy yea it should be the same size or very close, you shouldnt have a problem.

I wouldn't knock Rockford... I had two Rockford 10's in my Firebird and those things slammed at 300watts... Never had a problem with them blowing... I switched over to a single 12" Type R sub for my Talon though because I wanted just a cleaner sounding bass... Also I prefer to not have my ears bleed anymore. lol
But yes, the 15's should fit in the same box with no problems...

man the alpine type-r is much bigger than i expected...didn't fit in the same box ;( Lol oh well

I'm guessing the box wasn't deep enough for the new sub. IIRC, those new alpines have a huge ass magnet on them.

how does your type-r 15 sound? I didnt like mine...sounded good for the dirty south...but juts wasnt right for the godsmack scene...two 12" rockfords are doing me just fine
