Alright here the deal, i don;t own a honda/acura but most of my friends do and i figured id get the most response in here. i've been looking into subs. i want really good sq and some pretty good spl too. im leaning towards Image Dynamics IDMAX12. So lets here your opinions on them. Also if any of you have them, what are you using to run them? Im planning on just having one i think 2 is a little over kill. One more thing, dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm? Thanks a lot.

sorry i cant be of any real help, since i dont have them. but if you only want one sub, i'd get the 2ohm dvc. that way you can get a monoblock and take advantage of the 1ohm output(if capable).

the Brahma is SQ sub. adire audio built the sub with SQ in mind, but with it's design, it can get very loud. just think of it has a bonus. these subs will hit, possibly harder than the IDMAX. any subs will hit hard if you put them in the right box.

SQ and SPL are not mutually exclusive ........ many of things that make a sub good at one, are also necessary for the other. The real determining factor for SQ vs SPL is design of the box.

do angles matter in the design of a box? or is it just the volume inside?

If theres enough space and the shape is right, I try to use the golden ratio when designing the box after I figure out what volume I want. I don't know how much of a difference it makes, but I've been really happy with the results when I've done this.
