The cooling fans are not working on the van and I have checked the temprature sensor, anyone know where the fan relay is located on the vehicle?

To the drivers side of the radiator on the frame next to it or on the back side of the bumper frame in the same area. May need to remove the air intake ducting. Follow the wires from the fans. It's about an inch square and flat. Here's a picture:

Re: 1997 Grand Voyager Cooling Fans
Replacing the fan relay solved this problem and the location was correct. All fans are operating and everything is running fine. Thanks so much for help on the location of this relay.

Re: 1997 Grand Voyager Cooling Fans
Well let me tell you the symptom of what lead me to the fan relay. I turned the van off and when I did the fans kept running. I didn't think anything of it at the time as I thought the engine was cooling down. An hour later I came out and they were still running. I disconnected the battery and hooked it back up and they finally stopped running and when I say they finally stopped running, it was for good. The relay solved this issue so if your fans keep running after you turn your vehicle off, oh oh, fan realy is going.
Take care all! |
