94 ranger v6 starting problems, pls help

My 94 ranger occasionally will not start--battery is fine, unsure if starter is getting voltage. Sound familiar to anyone? Not a big engine person but would like to fix it myself if I can.

When it won't start check the small wire going to the starter solenoid and see if it is getting voltage when you turn the key.
