Question 2000 kia power loss just put new battery in whats up?

2000 kia lost power and did the jerk thing found out battery was bad replaced battery was fine till dark and had to use headlights radio lost power and lights dimming relay bad need help 4 kids and no car

You have a bad ground somewhere in the car. This ground problem is common in Sportages. You will need a electric diagram of a good mechanic to locate the bad ground.

scuffed all grounds i could find under the hood took generator off tested it was BAD put new in $150.00 runs fine now was only putting out 8.53 volts
