Exclamation 1999 Acura 3.2 TL OR 1999-2000 Nissan Maxima ??

Just got my license, so im looking for a used car to buy. Right now i have my eyes on the Acura TL or Nissan Maxima. The Nissan tends to be generally cheaper, and has the same features stock (leather, sunroof, etc) But the TL has a bigger engine 3.2 compared to 3.0

What are your thoughts on these cars?

Any other cars similar to these two . that i should take a look at?
(Japanese , interior leather, sporty?)

Thanks for your time

Maxima is a great car for the money, interior and performance. Bigger engine doesn't really mean anything here. Both are damn near equal in power and torque so the Maxima is a much better value IMO.

"Melo" and "AI". Enough said.

I would get either a 4th gen or 5th gen personally. I think 4th gen is the late 90s Maximas to 99 and 00 starts the 5th. Can't really go wrong with any gen though. They truly are great sedans for the money.

1. Maxima's since '96 have timing chains, and that's good.

2. Pre '95 Maxima's and most '95's have a timing belt and an interference engine, and you don't want that. I think this is the unfortunate case for Acura's too.

its irrelevant they both can break but proper maintenance can prevent even interference engines from becoming a lawn ornament

Go for the TL man, you can't compare a Maxima to an Acura man, if anything get you like a Lexus IS or a Corolla-S stick.
