Need a little help, please
Hello, guys
I am sorry if it sounds stupid for you. But I am kinda lost. It's about that which injectors I should use?!?! I have got a 1G AWD, I run 16g Evo3 GT. I wanna go for DSMlink. According to the info I found here, the 650cc are good enough for me. But what if I go for 950cc , so I will have them in the future if I want to upgrade the turbo. Is there gonna be a problem running the 950cc with DsmLink on such a small turbo? Something else - is a Walbro 199 enough or I should go for Walbro 255+ FPR, or Walbro 255 lp w/out fpr?!?! If I get the 3"GM MAF , should I go for the translator as well, using DSMlink?!? Thank you in advance guys! |

Re: Need a little help, please
If you're sure you are going to get dsm link. Then get the 950s. If you are not going with dsm link and instead going the SAFC route, 650s are the biggest ones you'd want to get.
As far as I know you wouldn't have any problems with the 950's since you can compensate for injectors up into the 1000cc range. You might want to ask the dsm link guys. As far as the fuel pump if your staying with the 16g get the 190. If you have future plans just go for the 255. Of course it's the more preferred path to get the FPR, but that depends on if you care about fuel economy. I personally am going to try running with the 255 and no FPR, and Ill decide for myself weather I want one or not. Also with whatever fuel pump you get, its a good idea to rewire it. With the GM maf, I think you need the translator with it. But again I'm not sure how different it would be. You'd want to ask the DSM link guys about that.

Re: Need a little help, please
of course you still need the translator with a gm maf even with link. Link will do absolutely fine with 950's the general consensus on the link forums is that it gets tricky after 1150's. and talon is right about the rest.

Re: Need a little help, please
The AFPR Is not absolutely necessary witht he 255lph. But like TEMG said, you will get crappy gas mileage and you will definately be running rich, ,since the pressurized fuel from the fuel pump will simply overrun the stock FPR.
This also happens with the 190lph. It is just alot less noticeable.

Re: Need a little help, please
Thanks, guys!
I will go for the 255 + Fpr then for sure! Since I haven't got my Link yet, I wanted to know if I am gonna need any datalogger using DSMlink?!?!? I guess, not!? And I also found out that my ECU doesn't have the Eprom, so I am gonna need to get one. Do you know any good place I can order it from? Are they different for the FWD and AWD? Is a one from a Talon going to work? |

Re: Need a little help, please
Turbo ECU's are the same, and one from a Talon/Eclipse/Laser would work. Just make sure the ECU comes from the same generation of cars. Like you need a Eprom ECU from a 1G.
Also there is a difference between the 90-91 ECU and the 92-94 ECU. The tach lines are different so, while you can use one from the other, your tachometer may not work. (In which case you need to switch some pins around on the ECU connector)

Re: Need a little help, please
Actually Wil, the 90 is the only oddball. If you have a 90, you will need a 90 ECU, otherwise any 91-94 should be fine. Also, auto vs manual doesnt matter. Also, DSMlink itself is one hell of a data logger, you will not need another.
