Re: 5e-fte in a paseo?
its a celica motor. its a 2.2L inline 4. you would have to get the tranny to go with it. and you have to get new motor mounts and fuel line hook ups and all the on board computer system(ecu and the all the other stuff.) but its very possible. just alot of work and money

The E-family of engines were used on the Starlet's base, so that includes your paseo and the tercel. Pretty much any E-Family engine will drop right into your paseo without a problem. mounts and everything line up (well, pending on where you get the motor from. if its imported from japan, some things might not line up. its all luck on that one.). This is acutally a very common swap. if you search google, you can find lots of links for more info and to see people who have done it. I actually just helped a friend drop a 4E-FTE into his tercel, and it went great. its running nitrous to take care of the turbo lag, and its pushing about 200hp to the wheels. ![]() http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_E_engine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_S_engine |
