I have a 88 Civic Hatch and am getting a code 1 and a code 16. Any ideas what might be causing those two together? I ran injector cleaner through and that subsided the check engine light from coming on for a while but now it comes back on again. Any help would be great.

1 is a faulty O2 sensor, 16 is a faulty fuel injector.

Code 1 (1 flash) Oxygen content Code 16 (16 flashes) Fuel injector So i'm thinking something happened with the fuel injection and caused too much unburned gas to go through the exhaust manifold and triggered the o2 sensor......but thats just a guess.....anybody else have an idea?

I reset the ECU and they just came back eventually. I knew that 1 was O2 and 16 was fuel injector. I found an O2 sensor for like $30 at AutoZone and was wondering where the best place was to find injectors? How can I tell which one is faulty, the primary or the secondary?
Thanks guys |

If you have a haynes or chilton, they should tell you how to test the injectors. But before you replace them, maybe pull them out, wipe them off good, and plug them back in, making sure they are secure, etc. Injectors wont be cheap. |
