dual exaust

I just saw the video for the mugen rr. it has a dual exaust. I thought it was bad compression wise to do that on a four cyl. why would mugen do that or was it better to do that. Any knowledge

Re: dual exaust

i dont know but compression is when the valves of the exhaust are closed and ready for the spark so why would the exhaust have anything to do with the compression, now i know it would improve the backpressure and it also depends on how the duals were ran like maybe at the rear theres a split so thats not really true duals maybe they are aiming for looks but exhaust has nothing to do with compression

Re: dual exaust

Most 4cyl. get better performance out of a single exhaust. duals are mostly for V engine. but some inlines work with that setup also.

Re: dual exaust

It's most likely split after the rear wheels, like the accord. and with the proper piping it shouldnt hurt performance any
