Starter Noise

This may be hard to describe; my starter makes a sorta clinking sound, almost like diesel knock just when the motor starts, a mechanic said it was normal.Does anybody else have this noise? 03 4.8

It's not the Starter.. it is called "Piston Slap". and yes it is very normal.
