New Camera

I have found my self getting more and more into taking photos of cars and sometimes landscapes/scenaries when I am driving around. I have a really old digital camera and wanted to get a new one.
Right now I have the Fuji A302(I think that's what its called), but it doesn't have many options to it. I don't want to spend $1k on a digital SLR at the moment, but want to get an upgrade between what I have now and an SLR. I didn't know what everyone on the forum might have to offer so I decided to just make a thread to see.

Re: New Camera

To be honest man, you're better off saving your pennies for when you are ready for a ~$1k dSLR.

Save up and get a Canon EOS30D or something, with a decent lens.

Re: New Camera

Want about something like a Nikon D40 or D50. I really need an upgrade, but didn't want to get something totally decked out or anything where I will never use all the features offered.

Check it out. They sell Rebel XT's with a lot for cheap often. Bought a lot off there, very great awesome site to learn from. Great to buy from as well. Stay away from the Nikon D40. If you could find a D50, then sure, but the D40 is too limited. It's coming up, but slowly.

Or get the Canon S5 for $400. Amazing camera with great zoom and the ability to use an external flash.
