92 engine
hello, I have a 92 towncar that my wife severely overheated, warping heads and who knows what else, I've been looking for a replacement engine and was wondering if a 93 or 94 4.6 engine would work, some have told me it would, others say it won't, any technical advice would be appreciated.

Re: 92 engine
In 93 they started using a three bolt starter. That could give you problems there. I would sugest using a 91 or 92 engine and not a 93 and up. But you might want to check if you have the 3 bolt starter, if it was a later 92 model. I have three good engines that would work in your car. They all run good, no noises or smoke. Mileage rangeing from 80 to 130 k starting at $400.00 Complete minus the accessories. From 91 models, I also have one from a 93 model. I also have heads, intakes, etc from these cars. Let me know if you are interested. [email protected]

Re: 92 engine
The 3 bolt starters were used after 11/91 in the town car and 2/19/92 in the crown vic and grand marquis. The 2 bolt starter blocks share the same transmission bolt pattern as the 302 block, as the 3 bolt starter blocks do not.
