New aquisition
Just had a '94 Isuzu Pup donated to me.
2.3 L Carb'd engine 5 speed 2wd 105" wheelbase Cleaned the carb with a can of carb cleaner, replaced cap, rotor, plugs and wires, fixed a vacuum leak, seems like air pump doesn't do anything (no change when disconnection vacuum line to it). After replacing a rusted out muffler and tailpipe, I test drove the truck and noticed it was backfiring (popping). Adjusted the timing to 10* advance and the popping now only happens at higher rpms (no tach so I don't know exactly when it starts). It also lacks power and when it pops, it seems the whole engine stumbles for a second. SUggestions? This car is hopefully going to become my daily driver once I figure out what kind of mileage it'll get. |
