1997 Chevy Blazer 4x4 Problems

I HAVE A '97 BLAZER 4.3 LITER 6-CYLINDER, AND IT IS LOCKED IN 4 HIGH. IT IS PUSH BUTTON 4WD, AND THE 4WD BUTTONS WILL NOT STAY LIT UP WHEN I PRESS THEM, AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO MANUALLY TAKE IT OUT OF 4WD. CAN ANYONE HELP? ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS

If a 233 transfer case you can ground pin 13 on the diagnostic conector as and read codes on the shift lights.
If any codes post back codes.
There are four codes 1-2-3-4.
Is it getting power and all fuses good.
Does the shift buttion lights come on for a bulb check.
And keep in mind the 97 is a bad year on ign switches.

There is a diaphram under the battery box for the 4x4.Check that for a torn up boot.I believe that is a dealer part only
