Cold Air Intake Question

I've been looking to add a cold air intake system (K&N FUEL INJECTION PERFORMANCE KIT, 57 SERIES FIPK, GENERATION 1, COLD AIR INTAKE to be specific) to my 95 4.6L V-8 T-Bird. But living in New England, I was wondering if there would be a decrease in performance durring the winter months or if it would even work at all. I would appreciate any comments by someone with experience or knowlage on this matter. Thank you!

Re: Cold Air Intake Question

In the winter it would work as well or better because the air would be colder and more dense. The IAT (Intake air temperature) sensor would detect the colder air and increase the fuel to the engine. Also, the MAF (Mass Air Flow) meter would sense an increased volume of air and adjust the mixture accordingly. Don't expect an increase in fuel mileage. More air means more gas. You will get a nice throaty roar and will feel the difference when you put your foot into it.
