electric exhaust cutout?

well in my quest to get my exhaust redone on my SL ive ran across a few products that apparently u splice in infront of the main cat and at the touch of the button it straightpipes your car... now ive seen these before (kid in town with a trans am has one) and i was just cruious if any one has ever had any luck with these on 3/s'. or would it be wise just to go with my origonal attempts and just get the whole exhaust system replaced?

Re: electric exhaust cutout?

been done, cheaper if you can do it on your own. best on turbo cars. here's an example.

Re: electric exhaust cutout?

anygood performance based setups avaliable that acually will improve performance? and will this sound like annoyingly raspy (ricerish) or will it acually be a good clean type growl (im not so niave to think it will sound like a V8, but will it have a good rumble to it or sound like a buncha bees)?
