i need to know howto set the timing for A 1990 GEO METRO please

If you have a vacuum advance on distributer the instructions will be slightly different. Otherwise, the above link covers about 90% (89-94)metros out there.

Post back if you have a vacuum advance on the dist. if not you have computer controlled advance and the instructions above apply.

I'm not sure about a '90, but on my '95 I just had to match up marks on the pullys to marks on the engine. Quite simple.

Hey thedudeabides, great name. Two completely different timings here. I assumed the original post meant ignition timing which is the same as any other car except for jumpering the diagnostic connector. You bring up a good point that they might mean valve timing which again is the same as any other car, align the marks on the two pulleys.
