jerks upon acceleration
I have a 2000 Honda Civic LX which I bought used. I've been driving it for about five months now and it's only given me one pesky problem. When I begin to accelerate, my car jerks/hesitates for a mere second but then continues on smoothly. If I'm accelerating after a stop light, I have to get it up to about 30, release the pedal, and then go at it again, and in between I feel a jolt. It's not a smooth acceleration. The car's never stopped on me. Have taken it to a mechanic and he said everything looked fine. Any idea what may be wrong? I'm not versed in cars so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: jerks upon acceleration
check your throttle position sensor and dont forget to mention if the CEL comes on.. anyway to check tps its on the throttlebody and has a plug on it just take the plug of and see if the car runs better if so then you know what to replace if not get an obd2 scanner and hook it up to your car and see what it says.. note disconnecting tps with car on might trigger CEL

Re: jerks upon acceleration
Yeah...you need to test it for faulty codes first...Advance Autopart does free tests as well.
