2002 F150 5.4 lifter noise?

Just looking for some input here from anyone who knows a little about the 5.4. I have always been Ford at heart but drove GM last 20 years, so a little "out of touch" with Ford engine traits. I have a 02 Supercrew that seems to rattle for about 5 seconds after I start it up cold, after sitting for a day or more. It sounds like lifters, or maybe a little piston slap? It's not scary loud, but was just curious if this a 5.4 trait, or do I have bigger fish to fry. Truck has 99k miles on it, and everything checks out great. Changed all the plugs and they all seemed tight before removal, no oil leaks or anything upon removal of the old ones.
TIA for any input

Check your oil pressure, might be low or your push rods are plugged up.

Oil pressure is fine, and this engine is the 5.4.........SOHC so no push rods.
I found a forum for F 150's that is full of stuff, seems these had a little issue with the lash adjusters....not a big deal and also helps to switch to 5w-30 from what I hear

Try an oil additive for the lifters. It might help them pump up a little faster.

What weight oil are you using now? if it only rattles for a few secs after start-up, its not a big deal at all....yeah an additive could help, but if its not a constant "tap" then i really wouldnt worry about it.
