Smile 01 S-10 automatic trans-Should this be changed?

2001 S-10 -4.3L-46,000 miles-Auto Trans I just read on some old site where it said that when you change the ATF+filter on the 4L60E auto trans to make sure you replace the "pressure regulator boost valve and sleeve". It said many of these transmissions failed around 50,000 miles because of this inexpensive($50)part. This is why they said to replace this part. I'm 99.9% sure that's what tranny my S-10 has. I'm getting close to 50,000 miles and was wondering what you people thought about this. Many thanks for your input!

I would not think all transmissions give a problem in that area.
If the transmission is working good you do not have a problem there.
When tyou change the filter check and see what is in the bottom of the pan.
Some of them did have a problems and there is some TSB's out there.
There was a problem on some with metal chips from factory getting in valve body.
Research the factory TSB's on your make and model.
Here is a link to a transmission forum that may be of help.
