wut beats a charger

I got a buddy that brags about his 72 big block charger all the time. Just once I want to show him up or at least keep head to head with him across the finish line.

So if anyone can give me a good guess at what can keep up with the charger it'd be great.

Thanks

My Nova does, I ran a guy in Charger once had a 426 in it. I smoked it with my 383 and he got all upset.

Depending on the condition of the car, and how much bullshit your friend is full of, either a whole lot can beat it, or not a whole lot can beat it.

Re: wut beats a charger

actually I figured out he has the small block. Otherwise with all the jargin he uses and the knowledge I know(nothing). He has dual competition headers or something that he mentions a lot, its a manual but I think he's working on changing it into a manual and its actually the small block not the big block. So that kinda sparks up what can beat him, or I'm supposing.

Well right now I"m looking into cars, I remember that my step dad had a 66 caprice so I'm looking into those but really cant find anything but I'm still likeing the newer ones also.

Another point if anyone can tell me what I can throw in my 02 pontiac grand prix with the 3.1L se... I don't know I"m dreamin right now lol. thanks.

Otherwise I don't have any new info about his charger.

sounds like anthony all right
and as far as a car that can beat it in a race (as far as 1/4 mile is concerned) it depends what hes running and how modded your car would be and what kind of car you would have and if your deciding what car to get look in the classifieds generally lots of older muscle cars in there or read the sticky threads on top of the street racing and/or nonspecific forums they might help

Re: wut beats a charger

Alright thanks... I have been looking into some nova's bcuz it would be easier to find parts.

that and I was looking for a grand national or GTX (yay good luck for me!)

otherwise I found a javelin that might do the trick for $750(I'm also on a low budget)

But I will look into some more forums.

Re: wut beats a charger

Don't be surprised if the Nova pulls a whopping 15.2@91mph. A lot of muscle car guys get shut down when the actually run their car because they find out that old ass V8s can't breathe for shit, even with their summit special headers and air filter.

Lets put it this way, if he isn't mentioning Heads/cam setup, then he probably isn't shit. And if he is, I doubt he will take the time to have it tuned, so he probably still isn't shit.

Re: wut beats a charger

what about some newer cars, something that wont cost me a lot to get the actual car but I can put some performance parts into it or swap the engine for cheap like a evo(although cheaper than that... very cheaper than that)

GSX DSM's are cheap to buy, cheap to modify, and can be made wicked fast.

Re: wut beats a charger

how bout shoving the supercharged v6 into ur grand prix, my friends sisters was quick.

good luck with finding a GNX for under 40g that's in good condition...if not more.

i'd say an awd elclipse(gsx) or talon awd. an early 90's 240sx would do the job after a lil work was done(i know of one that needs a door and left front light) but it's 750 bucks(and yea it runs). a porsche 944 turbo would run with it...i think. wat kind of small block are we talking here? like a 318?
