2004 545 rattle in sunroof

Whenever I open the sunroof I get a slight rattle when going over rough pavement...
Is there something that can be adjusted to correct this?

Re: 2004 545 rattle in sunroof

Anyone else want to say the obvious?

I guess you could pull down your entire headliner up to the sunroof and see if anything is loose. Try opening it partway and check the arms that hold the sunroof up, there could be a loose bolt.

Now do you mean when you slide it back all the way? Or when you just have it tilt up. Cause mine has been doing the same thing, I just let it go all the way to the back and then I just nudge it forward and the rattle goes away.

Re: 2004 545 rattle in sunroof

I have had two 2004 545i's both had the rattle...I suspect it is a cable that is not tight. I thought it might have something to do with the manual closure crank in the trunk...
your idea of a nugde forward would like pull the cable tight and stop the rattle.
