Front Rotors

Does the 1997 ford escort lx wagon have 10 1/4" rotors in the front or are they 9" rotors?

Re: 97 Escort Brakes

Also, you may want to see if the rear drums need to be adjusted. In time they will wear and the drum will as will. Most calipers, if not all have self adjusting pins. Most rotors aren't afforded with this luxury so they need to be adjusted to make up for the wear every once in a while.

Re: Front Rotors

Does anyone know what's the difference between the two front brake disc sizes that are available? I bought the 10 1/4" ones for my '97 escort lx wagon but I'm thinking that maybe the 9" ones were the correct size and that the huge 10" ones were for the zx2 or something.

Re: Escort Brakes

Pull your wheel off, get a ruler or a tape measure and measure them, quick and easy shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to do.

Re: Escort Brakes

You're welcome.

I don't understand what is so hard about spending 5 to 10 minutes pulling your wheel off to make sure that you get the correct part for your car, sometimes that is the only way to make sure you get what you need.

Hey Torch. If a person doesn't want to accept any advice, he shouldn't ask for it. Write it off.

on the drums on escorts 97-01 the drums do not have star adjusters like your normal drum brakes. the brakes adjust themselves when the shoes are pressed out .
