Rim size

I don't really know much about tires and rims, but I wrecked my car and broke the rim so I need another one. In case I can't find the exact rim, I was wondering if anyone knew like the dimensions, I guess, of the rim so I could get one the same size to use the same tire, since it still seems usable. All I know is the rim is 15" inches for the 91' escort gt. Thanks.

Re: Rim size

Any parts store will be able to get you the right rim. It would be pretty hard to get the wrong one.

The right factory rim or just the right size rim? I called and asked for factory, they said ask a dealer. The dealer said the vehicle has been discontinued, I thought 'no crap idiot.' So I guess I should just try to find one on the internet?

Re: Rim size

You need to find a rim that will match the rims that your other tires are mounted on. If you have different sizes of tires on the front and back of the car then you would need to match the rim that is directly on the other side of the car. If you give them the tire size you have they should be able to tell you what rims they have available.

Re: Rim size

You can get the rim size by going to any shop that balances tires. They have to measure the rim width to balance the tire. They have a caliper that they can put on your rim while it is on the car. This will give you the width of the rim. You already know the diameter. I don't think any shop would mind doing this for you. It would take about 15 seconds to do. No problem.

Re: Rim size

Hi,
I can just say from my personal experience that you had a good guess of the rim size. You can go ahead of the size as it will perfectly suit it.
