Fuel Pump Power???

I have a 1990 Trans Sport with the 3.1...It will start after like three times trying for 5-6 seconds each...It will stay running,but sometimes we'll have to spray either so we dont run the battery down..Today while I had it running I pulled the plug to the fuel pump and it did stall out..So the pump is pumping..BUT,first time starting it,it wont start until three-four times trying...BUT,when(IF) we hear the pump turn on(humming in the tank),it starts right away..We dont want to drive the van ANYWHERE for who knows when it wont have ANY power to the pump...Thanks for any input!!!

JUST TO ADD THAT YESTERDAY(AT LEAST 7 TIMES WHEN I TURNED THE KEY) YOU COULD HEAR THE PUMP BUILD UP PRESSURE,IT STARTED RIGHT AWAY EVERYTIME...TODAY NO FUEL PUMP NOISE AT ALL? DID THREE GROUND WIRES...DONT LIKE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS!!! ANYBODY??
