Dash warning symbol - unknown

My wife's 740il has been hesitating. When it does, a symbol lightsup in the middle of the dash. It looks like a circle with a capital "A" in the middle. I've been unable to identify it. Please someone enlighten me. Thanks.

Re: Dash warning symbol - unknown

P.S. - upon further review (with my reading glasses on), the symbol is a counter-rotating arrow surrounding a triangle with an exclamation point inside. Is this a check engine symbol? German for "slow down you idiot"? The sign of the appocolypse? Please help. Thanks.
