Ok, i've got a 1987 Supra non turbo right now, 2 weeks after i bought it i blew the lower end, i now have a new engine in it, but i still have the old engine (7m-ge). I am planning on selling the 1987 supra non turbo i have now, and buy a 1989-1992 supra turbo... The question is, if i rebuild the engine out of the 1987 supra (7m-ge), but rebuild it with the low compression like the turbo model has (7m-gte) can i use it when i lose my engine in the 1989-1992 supra with the (7m-gte)?

If you want to rebuild a motor for a turbo application you are better off buying a jap spec 7m-gte for $1000 and rebuilding it. The GTE has all the oil sending and return lines for the turbo, oil squirters under the piston skirts, and other things i am sure i am forgetting. Several people have built the NA into a turbo with no internal mods at all, it just takes lots of tuning. There are two people i know of in SOGI that have done and there are many more that have tried. There are many things to consider when doing this.
