How to check clutch fluid level

So as far as I know the clutch in my 2000 cavalier z24 is hydraulic, how do I go about checking the fluid levels? I need to know If I need to replace the clutch or just top the fluid up

if you are not having any trouble & just want to ck fluid level the master cyl
is under hood usaly next to brake master cyl.mounted at firewall.remove cap to ck.

Ok, so that is good, what are some signs that it could be my gear box needing some greasing or just the clutch wearing out

hello,some of the newer vehicles have a dip stick to ck trans level.you should have a plug(removable by 1/2 ratchet or box wrench)on the side of trans case.diffecautty getting into 1st or reverse is 1 of the first signs of worn clutch.then engine revs higher than normal. are you having problems with
trans??

well basically I am trying to figure out if I am going to need to replace the clutch soon, as in very soon. Or if maybe the gear box gear shift linkage needs some greasing, Or just some other issue all together.

The problem I am experiencing is when shifting gears either up or down while drving . It seems to be a little rougher than normal like there is an extra sort of click in there (best way I can think to describe it) It's not grinding at all, when I am on flat ground in gear but holding the clutch in the car isn't creeping or trying too.

What do you think it could be? I am trying to get it checked by a mechanic but I'm not getting anywhere, and I am driving back home on Tuesday ( which is 2500 miles away)

i can understand your concern.if your not felling any slippage,pedal feels
normal,no grinding,ect.i not sure.how old is clutch??is it original?or dont know
i dont see any service bullitins or recalls on your car.maybe have a tech look at it before you go.

you should be able to tell by the level of the pedal at which it takes to engage at top or middle or bottom usually when you have to press all the way down your clutch is almost gone because the hydraulics adjust accordingly but when theres little to none left then it gets harder to put into gear and most cars have a flywheel inspection hole on the bottom of the bell housing of the trans
