timming cover question
i got a 92 pickup with the 22RE in it i need to know if you have to take the oil pan off in order to pull the timming cover off? My damn water pump took a chunk out of it and made a nice little hole.

Re: timming cover question
I've replaced several 22R Timing Chains, and IIRC you dont have to pull the pan, but you have to remove a couple of bolts in the front. (Usually when replacing the TC you need to pull the pan though, cause pieces of the guides have fallen down there).
You don't have to pull the head to remove the TC cover either, but there is a hidden bolt under the top TC gear that has to be removed.
