Brake Question
I have a 2003 XL 4WD with 44,000 miles. I was told it needed rear brakes but the front pads were fine. A few quesitons:
Is it unusually for the rear pads to go before the front? On other cars, I always seemed to replace the front pads prior to the rear. They suggested replacing the rear rotors due to excessive rust and pitting. They quoted $150 per rotor. Does that sound right? Seems high. |

Re: Brake Question
Sounds like the parking brake was not releasing. Make sure they also fix that.

Re: Brake Question
Premium rear rotors can cost that much.

Re: Brake Question
The rear brakes on these are notorious for rusting up and chewing thru pads. So its normal to need rears before the fronts, and the prices sound appropriate to me unfortunately.
