Re: code 0422

It is either the o2 sensors on the catalytic converter or the catalytic converter itself is bad

Re: code 0422

I'm getting the same thing.
If it was a bad O2 sensor would it detect this?

The O2 sensors are ridiculously priced for this car.
So I didn't want to change them just to see if it was the catalytic but then thats not a cheap fix either.

I was looking at these has anyone used this babies.. generic O2 sensors.

I'm also looking at a way to test them. .I don't have leads that will connect properly to the pins.. I'm having a hard time getting getting to the pins they are close together and my regular jump connectors are just to big to fit in the connector housing.

I was looking around on the internet and found a o2 bench test for this and I was contemplating taking them out and using this method to test.

will this really work?

Re: code 0422

It's the sensors. Get OEM brand for ultimate satisfaction. Here is a link to your problem. You could also try vwvortex.com for more issue solutions like yours. Good luck!

Re: code 0422

Thanks

I found a supplier in Canada that I can get OEM replacements or the aftermarket version I guess for about $100 cheaper than I can get them at the part source or any retail location Ive found around here.

Im going to pull them this weekend to at least try the bench test that I linked above.. and see how that goes

Ill check out that site as well thanks.
