So how do you do it? I am considering a project that I plan on painting yellow, but the molded color is red.
I will probably use tamiya laquer. Typically I use plastikote or duplicolor primer, which usually end up pink after going over red. I don`t want this to end up orangish yellow. How do you guys keep the red from bleeding through? Also, I am looking for another kit once again. This time it is: Monogram 1/12 scale `67 Corvette. It is a great kit, and I wish I had another. Please let me know if you see one of these anywhere. They stopped making them about 5 years ago. |

Thanks Uk.
Actually, I`ve been watching ebay, and I am really getting frustrated with it. Prices get so out of control, and I am tired of getting outbid within the last seconds of the auction. Thanks though, and yeah, I like the big ones. After building that Camaro, I am thinking about starting a large scale collection. :-)

Hawk,
Have you tried Tamiya white primer? I have used it to cover some dark colors before and so far have yet to have any of the original plastic color show through. I have found to reasonable coats with Tamiya primer to be sufficient. Good Luck. Ray

I'd try the Tamiya primer. A few light coats at first. Leave for a day or two then give it a couple of heavy coats.
I visited my model shop today and the only 1/12 he has is a '57 Chev at $99.00NZD = $49.50USD
