4.6 After market intake?

How reliable are the after market intake manifolds for the 4.6? I just bought a '97 Crown Vic and was loving it on my first drive around town when the intake let go. It's got an OEM intake on it now. I drive form Boston To Pittsburgh in December. Can I trust the Intake with the aluminum crossover? ??????

Re: 4.6 After market intake?

I just changed mine, very pleased with the results. Bought it off E-bay, but would have saved time by going to any local parts store. Dorman makes them, and should include thermostat, alternator bracket, and gaskets (mine were molded into the manifold). Good Luck!
